Swiss Victorinox
ABOUT THE ORIGINAL SWISS ARMY KNIFE
The original Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is over 100 years old, its invention is down to Karl Elsener who had a revolutionary idea of manufacturing a compact soldier knife with an array of practical functions.
Since 1891, the company has delivered knives to the Swiss army. Their famous emblem—a cross in a shield—has been used by Victorinox since 1909. That year, the mother of founder Karl Elsener died and he named the company “Victoria” in her honour. In 1921, with the introduction of “inox” (ab. for acier inoxydable, the French term for stainless steel) into their products, the brand and name of the company became the present “Victorinox” (“Victoria”+”Inox”).
Today, Victorinox produces and sells unique, high quality products worldwide which are of practical use in differing areas of life. Here at Outback Jacks we have an extensive range of Swiss Army knives to suit campers, adventurers, walkers, hikers, fishermen and women.
